This policy explains how cancellations, returns and refunds work for purchases from Merritt Games. It does not reduce any rights you have under UK consumer law.
Changing your mind
If you are a consumer buying online, you will normally have 14 days from the day you receive your goods to tell us that you wish to cancel the order, without giving a reason.
After telling us that you wish to cancel, you normally have a further 14 days to send the goods back. To cancel, email [email protected] or contact us through the Contact Us page with your name, order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel.
Returning goods
Unless we agree otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods when you cancel because you have changed your mind. Returns should be sent to Merritt Games, 170 New Rd, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, WD3 3HD, United Kingdom.
Please package returned goods securely. You are responsible for the goods until they are returned to us, so we recommend using a suitable postal service and keeping proof of postage.
Sealed TCG products and handling
You may inspect goods in a way that would reasonably be permitted in a shop. Opening sealed trading card products, booster packs or other packaging may significantly reduce their resale value. Where handling goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and characteristics of the goods, we may make a lawful deduction from the refund to reflect any reduction in value.
Refunds after cancellation
Where the cancellation right applies, we will refund the price paid for the returned goods and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. If you selected a more expensive delivery service, the additional delivery cost is not normally refundable.
We will make the refund without undue delay and normally within 14 days after we receive the goods back, or earlier if you provide acceptable evidence that you have sent them back. Refunds are normally made using the same payment method used for the original purchase.
Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
If an item is faulty, damaged, not as described or not the item you ordered, please contact us promptly. Your statutory consumer rights apply independently of the change-of-mind cancellation right above. Where we are responsible for a return because the goods are faulty or incorrect, we will arrange an appropriate remedy and will not require you to bear reasonable return costs.
Exceptions
Some types of goods can be excluded from the statutory cancellation right by law, for example genuinely personalised goods or certain sealed goods where a statutory exception applies. Where an exception applies to a particular product, we will make this clear before you order.
Model cancellation statement
You may cancel by sending us a clear statement such as: “I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract for the sale of the following goods: [goods], ordered on [date] and received on [date]. Name: [name]. Address: [address].” You do not have to use this wording.
